Kelsie & Jason Wedding - Trophy Club, TX

Twilight was just beginning to fall, and the light from the tiki torches gave a warm glow to the guests mingling in the backyard. The bride and groom had just made their entrance and were now talking with their friends at the first table. Kelsie was glowing as she laughed and leaned on the arm of her new husband. She glanced up at him to catch his eye and they shared a smile.
Watching Kelsie and Jason interact was so much fun- they were constantly goofing off and flirting with each other. They are both relaxed people, so the whole day was laid back and went smoothly. Thank you two for letting me be a part of it!

Trash the Dress with Jessica & Phillip

On Saturday, Brian and I met with my friend Jessica and her husband Phillip. You might remember Jessica from the "pink beach" wedding. It was the first wedding I ever shot, and with it being a photographer's wedding, you can imagine I was more than a little nervous!
She never got to do engagement or bridal portraits, I never got to do bridal portraits, and we always said we would do each other's "trash the dress" session.
Trash the Dress is not about ruining the dress, but about creating pieces of art that you really want and not worrying that the skirt might get a little dirty. In fact, most brides that participate find that their dress (after being sent to the dry cleaner) is totally wearable afterward- even those who shoot in the ocean! You can read more about it here.
If you are a bride-to-be or have been a bride for years and are interested in doing a Trash-the-Dress session, I really want to shoot some more and am willing to do a session for free! So please let me know if you are interested.
Here are some that I shot from their session as well as one by Brian of Jessica and I.

Rachel & Nathan Engagement

It was the beginning of their engagement shoot, and as they sat on the bench, Nathan said, "I'm really not good at this, Rachel's family does this every year, but I really never did." But right after his warning, he followed Rachel's lead and relaxed for the entire shoot. They laughed and flirted and seemed to totally forget that I was even there. It was wonderful! They are a beautiful couple and so deeply in love- what an awesome thing to be able to capture! Thanks you two!

Lyndsie Bridal

At our first location I started my art direction "I want you to kind of lean-" Lyndsie struck a pose that looked like she had stepped out of a wedding magazine, "Like this?" I blinked, surprised for a second, "Exactly!" And that is how it went for the rest of the session.
We shot around the stockyards of Fort Worth and caused quite a commotion with a bride, her sister (Kelsie, whose bridals I shot a couple weeks ago), her mom with a tiny pom dog in tow, a photographer, and 2 videographers. Everyone stopped to see what was going on. One woman was watching us and not where she was walking and ended up face first on the sidewalk! "I was just wondering what a bride was doing next to a tractor..." she mumbled as she brushed herself off and then limped her way down the street.
It warms my heart when a bride knows what "smile with your eyes" means! (I am a bit of a ANTM addict, I am afraid.) She was definitely fierce! :-) I had so much fun shooting with you, Lyndsie, and can't wait for your wedding!
