Kasey Bridal

The day of Kasey's bridal shoot was a dark, foreboding gray, and the Weather channel was threatening hail and tornados. We decided an hour before the shoot to go ahead as planned, but I honestly was worried that she would get caught in the pouring rain in her wedding dress (which would have made some cool shots, but just not before the wedding!) :-)
As I drove from northern Dallas to southern Fort Worth, it was amazing to watch the dark gray transform to a bright, cheerful blue. By the time I arrived at the Botanic Gardens, there was not a hint of stormy clouds.
Kasey was a great model- she has one of those warm smiles that makes everyone around her feel comfortable and as though they have been friends for years. She even brought her Yorkie-Pom Lulu, and oh my goodness she was just the cutest thing! I love when people include their pets- it helps bring out true emotion and makes the pictures more personal.
Kasey and Lulu both really worked the camera, and I had so much fun shooting! Thanks Kasey, and I can't wait 'til your wedding!

Michelle & Ray Wedding - Austin, TX

This couple had a marvelous and intimate backyard wedding with a guest list of their closest family and friends. The result was a sunny afternoon of people enjoying warm weather, the excellent cuisine, and especially the company of their two favorite newly married people. Michelle and Ray were the most gracious hosts, always making sure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of. It was really fun getting to watch them interact with their guests (and each other!)
Great light + vibrant color + happy relaxed people = super fun shoot. Michelle looked like a movie star and I was able to get some really great shots. Congratulations, you two! Your wedding was fabulous! :-)

Brittany & Corey Engagement

“Will you get me something, Corey?” Brittany smiled at her fiancĂ©e as she gently sat in the chair next to me. I cupped my hands around my warm cup of coffee as I listened to her talk about Corey, her bright green-blue eyes sparkled with excitement and she couldn’t stop smiling. Corey joined us quietly, two cups of coffee in hand. He smiled and nodded his head in agreement with whatever his bride wanted.
I knew we were going to get along great when one of the first requests she had was to stand in water for a few shots. A couple weeks later after our meeting, we ended up shooting downtown, then headed to the W to get the desired “water” shots poolside. They were so much fun, and what a photogenic couple! Thanks for letting me capture you guys- you are great!

Austin, Dallas, Houston, and a Karate Guy

Yesterday morning I woke up in Austin (check back for the wedding I had there on Saturday), drove to Dallas for a wedding vendors meeting in Dallas.( I am SO excited about what is happening there- more details to come!) :-) After the meeting Brian and I went back to the apartment and I threw some stuff in a suitcase before taking off for the airport. (My super nice brother-in-law Roy gave me a FREE roundtrip ticket to Houston to visit my parents. That's right kids- free.) :-)
As I threw my clothes in a suitcase and dragged it to the door I noticed this little guy (see photo below) hiding between two books on our shelves. This karate guy has become part of a game Brian and I play. We take turns hiding the tiny karate guy where we know the other person will find him. Karate guy has appeared in my makeup drawer, in Brian's lunch at work, in the fish food, etc etc. I know it's silly, but it makes us aware of the other person's daily routine and makes us feel closer when our schedules are so that we rarely see each other.
Well, it's back to editing photos from this weekend- hope everyone has a splendid week!
