So far I have yet to blog about anything personal, and even though it is sometimes rough to share my thoughts and feelings I think that it helps to explain my view and understanding of why I do what I do. :-) This summer has been so full of not only weddings and work, but changes in my life and my family. My little sister got married and moved to Colorado, my sister-in-law will have her first baby any day now, and tomorrow Brian and I will be closing on our first house!
With so much going on, the day-to-day often goes unappreciated. I get swept up in packing boxes, mounds of paperwork, and keeping up with my hectic schedule that I forget to enjoy the little moments in my day.
As I write this, Elle rests her head on my arm and looks at me with a contented sigh. She is a reminder to be thankful for everything, and to make the most of every moment. For her, every belly rub is like she has her own personal masseuse, every walk is like she is seeing nature for the first time, every game is like she has won a grand prize, and every bowl of dried dog food is like a gourmet meal. I have so much more than a pat on the head, leashed walks, tossed tennis balls, and crunchy kibble, and yet I have a hard time showing half as much enthusiasm for the details of my life. Definitely something I will be working on!
And because she is just so darn cute...
